These four Quebec City lads like to call their sound "tragic" and compare themselves to the likes of Jimmy Eat World and the Get Up Kids. Anyone who has heard those bands knows that they can convey a tragic element in their sound. The Awards manage to come close on these six songs but fall about two feet short, and you get the notion that they're holding back just that little bit. As any good emo band can, they certainly emote and the songs may cause clouds to form over your angst-ridden head, especially on "Platitude," which actually opens with the sound of a thundershower. But they need to let go next time around and really let the rain pour down.
