If you were thinking it's been a while since you've heard any new Arctic Monkeys material, you would be quite right. It's been a year-and-a-half since the rockers released their slightly psychedelic Humbug. Well, the boys are back again with a new single.
The Monkeys' new tune, "Brick by Brick," initially choogles along on a chunky garage rawk riff and chain-gang-style call-and-response vocals before eventually locking into a twinkly surf rock chorus and a sweaty guitar solo.
The clip finds a girl staring at a slab of wax for the first half, while eventually it shows the silhouettes of the band members kicking on the beach before hitting the studio. A studio reel points to this cut being tracked in February, so maybe a full-length isn't so far off. We will have to wait and see.
