Apple is making the stuff of science fiction a reality with the Apple Vision Pro VR/AR headset, which the company unveiled yesterday. The headset will be available to buy early next year, and for only $4,694, it can be all yours!

The headset aims to effectively replace the need for a TV screen or computer monitor, offering a more immersive experience, while allowing you to continue being present in your physical environment when interacting with digital content.

"Built upon decades of Apple innovation, Vision Pro is years ahead and unlike anything created before — with a revolutionary new input system and thousands of groundbreaking innovations, it unlocks incredible experiences for our users and exciting new opportunities for our developers," said Apple CEO Tim Cooke.

Although not the first VR headset ever made (Microsoft already has one on the market, and so does Meta), it is apparently far superior to anything currently out there.

Tech columnist Joanna Stern said in a tweet, "The interface and hand gestures are intuitive, 3D movies are finally making sense and a huge dinosaur felt like it really broke through a wall right in front of me."

Based on the prototype unveiled yesterday, the Vision Pro looks pretty snazzy, but the questions remain: what is this for? And will people be willing to spend almost $5,000 on it?
