For those that missed out on the brief theatrical run of Antony and the Johnsons' concert film Turning, its upcoming DVD release will be a godsend. Ahead of the November 11 due date through Secretly Canadian, though, you can check out a live performance of "Twilight" from the film.
Captured in London in 2006 by filmmaker Charles Atlas, the concert clip presents Antony tackling the opener to his 2000 self-titled debut passionately, smiling and performing masterful hand moves as he details "soaring through the atmosphere." This is gracefully accompanied by his back-up team of string players, a pianist and the unsettlingly awe-inducing movements of a skeletal dancer.
You can check out the clip, glazed in a velvet haze of lights, down below.
