Since last fall, thrash masters Anthrax, Testament and Death Angel have been joining forces for some tour dates, and the heavy metal love affair will last a little while longer. A third trip from the trio of acts has just been announced, and this time it crosses over into Canadian territory.
The groups take off on the third leg of their joint tour this September, and it seems as if the bands are plenty pumped to get back on the road together.
"There have been very few three-band bills in which the acts are so compatible and the shows so consistent that a second leg of the tour is a 'no-brainer,'" Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick said in a statement. "But in the case of Anthrax, Testament and Death Angel, that's been the case. Things have gone so well, in fact, that it's made sense to add a third leg with this exact same lineup. All three bands are excited to take this show into new territory with a trek across Canada, and a few spots in the U.S. we missed last time around. And this time, Testament will be armed with a brand new album with music that we're eager to share with everyone. Hope to see you out there!"
While the tour opener takes place in Sacramento, CA, on September 14, just a few dates later Anthrax, Testament and Death Angel will make it up to Vancouver's Vogue Theatre. From there, the bands head east, playing Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto, Quebec City and Montreal. You can see the complete schedule down below.
While Anthrax are still touring on 2011's Worship Music, and Death Angel are repping their 2010 LP Relentless Retribution, the Testament boys will have some new tracks to display. Their next album, Dark Roots of Earth, arrives July 31 through Nuclear Blast. Produced by Andy Sneap (Arch Enemy, Nevermore, Accept), the album collects nine new originals with bonus covers of Iron Maiden, Queen and Scorpions tunes.
