Former Anal Cunt guitarist Josh Martin is dead, following a gruesome incident at a Rhode Island mall. He was 45.
According to WPRI, a man fell from the top of an escalator into the food court at the Providence Place Mall around 10:45 p.m. local time last night (May 28).
A witness told police that he had been "clowning around and riding the rail of the escalator" prior to falling and hitting his head on a table below.
The victim was treated for head trauma on scene by first responders, then taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Martin's family and friends have since confirmed that he was the 45-year-old Pawtucket resident in the news report.
Officials are calling the incident a "tragic accident."
Martin played with the intentionally offensive grindcore band from 1996 until they broke up in 2001. He later rejoined the band from 2006 until they permanently disbanded in 2011.
Anal Cunt frontman Seth Putnam previously passed away in 2011 at the age of 43 from a suspected heart attack.
