Winnipeg's Amos the Kid has shared a new single called "I'll Set the Fire," his first piece of new music since releasing the No More New Ideas EP last year.
Produced by Yes We Mystic's Adam Fuhr, "I'll Set the Fire" is a spare, gentle love song that erupts in a full-band aurora in its final minute. In a statement about the song, Amos the Kid's Amos Nadlersmith said:
We thought that "I'll Set the Fire" exists really well on its own, and we'd give the song its moment so it doesn't get drowned out by the more flashy stuff we're sitting on. If you've ever wondered what's out there in the night, you're like me and probably everyone else.
Fear and love are the same I guess, they lay together and mingle close to the flames, twisting into the darkness. I'm afraid of the night and you're afraid of the dark. So I'll take the first watch and watch your eyelids closely.
