Earlier this year, the Flaming Lips recruited Amanda Palmer for the remake of their video "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face,",and now they have returned the favour. Palmer's latest video from Theatre Is Evil is "Do It with a Rockstar," and it was co-created and co-directed by Lips leader Wayne Coyne along with Palmer, George Salisbury and Michael McQuilken.
The hedonistic clip for this energetic rock tune shows Palmer performing and cutting loose in a cramped and sweaty club. She ends up hooking up with a woman at the show and the two have a very NSFW time on a bed.
A press release notes that the clip features a cameo from Coyne (is that him hanging from the rafters during some of the performance clips?).
In a statement, Palmer said, "Apparently, how it works with Wayne Coyne at a video shoot is simple: everything's a cosmic improvisation, everyone's attitude is on enthusiastic overdrive, and if you drop a hint, Wayne will covertly show up with six giant boxes of gold glitter (presumably from Flaming Lips Headquarters, where they must have an endless supply) in the trunk of his car."
Palmer and her Grand Theft Orchestra are currently on tour in North America and will play the Phoenix Theatre in Toronto tonight (November 9).
