Reuben and the Dark's Kaelen Ohm branched out with a solo project by the name of Amaara, premiering "Black Moon" back in the spring. Now, she's unveiled a new video for that very song.
Ohm directed, edited and stars in the epic clip, which finds her roaming through gorgeous but ominous natural landscapes. Dark skies and an eerie mist blanket the musician as she comes face to face with owls, horses and even wolves. It was filmed in Calgary back in June over the course of two and a half days that saw Ohm and her crew greeted by "intense lightning storms" and "foggy sunrises that resembled forest fires."
"The video's imagery was with me when I wrote the song, so three years later it's so rewarding to finally see 'Black Moon' come to life visually," Ohm tells Exclaim! "I grew up in a small town in the mountains in BC, so connection to nature and wildlife are an important part of my life and artistic process. The spiritual symbolism of animals was a big theme in the video and we were so grateful for the Yamnuska Wolf Dog Sanctuary and the Medicine River Wildlife Centre for their openness and willingness to have some of their animal residents as part of the project."

An EP also titled Black Moon is also expected out in early 2017.
