Authorities are now investigating

Last month, All That Remains lead guitarist Oli Herbert was found dead in a pond near his home in Connecticut. While the cause of death was not publicly revealed, a new report now shows police are treating Herbert's passing as suspicious.

As the Hartford Courant reports, the state medical examiner's office has ruled Herbert's death to be "undetermined." And while the manner of death is typically listed as homicide, suicide or accident in such cases, state police are now treating the death as suspicious, and the Eastern District Major Crime Squad is investigating.

According to the report, police are compiling a timeline of the 44-year-old guitarist's last 24 hours, reviewing medical history and searching for people he could have been in contact with before drowning.

Over the weekend, the guitarist's wife Elizabeth Herbert published a now-deleted Facebook post about her husband's death.

"Oli was apparently self-treating for manic-depression that has run in his family for several generations," she reportedly wrote. "Anti-depressants were found in his system, as well as a sleep aid. The psych meds found in his system were the same ones that a close relative has been prescribed for a long time, so he knew what to hunt down for the 'treatment.'"

Elizabeth added, "seeing how he was not going (and WOULDN'T GO) to a doctor to get diagnosed with the issue and was not being prescribed the medications and monitored on them, it explains his occasional erratic behavior here at home."

Elizabeth also addressed the cancellation of a planned public memorial for Oli Herbert that was abruptly called off earlier this month, citing "concern for my personal safety and home due to numerous threats to both."

All That Remains recently released new LP Victim of the New DiseaseThe band are gearing up for a European tour this December, which will see guitarist and YouTube personality Jason Richardson take up Herbert's guitar duties.
