Strokes six-stringer Albert Hammond Jr. is getting ready to drop his latest solo venture AHJ in a couple of weeks, but you can hear the EP's wiry "Rude Customer" ahead of the October 8 street date.
The song thrives off the same kind of wound-up guitar melodies you'd expect out of the Strokes, though Hammond's vocals about a solving a tip-based conundrum come more from the adenoid's than Julian Casablancas's baritone. That said, his singing still meshes well with the layers of off-kilter pop arrangement, later scored with a scorching Is This It?-era guitar solo.
You'll find the cut down below.
AHJ is due out on October 8 through Strokes bandmate Julian Casablancas's own Cult Records.
