British art institution the Tate has unveiled a new short film about late Canadian-American abstract painter Agnes Martin, and this will be of special interest to music fans since it features an original score from British electronic producer Actress.
The two-minute Agnes Martin Road Trip focuses on Martin's two-year road trip through the U.S. and Canada in the late '60s. We see vintage footage from North American highways, intercut with interview footage with Martin, and the whole thing is soundtracked by soothing, plinky synth tones.
It was directed by James Bowthorpe. Watch the clip below.
This film coincides with the Tate's new Agnes Martin exhibition at the Tate Modern in London.
