The Acorn Tour Everywhere, Announce Rarities Album

Things have been busy these days over in the Acorn camp. In recent weeks, the Ottawa band have landed a UK record deal, set up a tour across the pond and played more summer festivals than we — or likely them — can remember. Adding to all this activity, the experimental folkies have now announced a new rarities albu, entitled Heron Act, as well as a hefty 30-date North American tour.

Via their Canadian home of Paper Bag Records, Heron Act will drop physically and digitally on September 30. On the disc, you’ll find a collection of hard-to-find live recordings, blog/radio session jams and a handful of demos. Also mixed in there is a cover of Cyndi Lauper’s "Good Enough,” where the Acorn get their Goonies on good and proper.

On the band’s North American tour, they will be kicking things off shortly after they return from the UK, and they will be bringing collaborators/friends/Torontians Ohbijou along on the road. Starting in early October, the bands will make their way across Canada before dipping down into the States and wrapping things up November 29 with a homecoming show in Ottawa.
