Abbath has returned with details of a new album. The former Immortal frontman and co. will deliver Dread Reaver on March 25 via Season of Mist.

Following 2019's sophomore outing OutstriderDread Reaver was helmed by returning producer Endre Kirkesola, Abbath, and Dag Erik Nygaard at Norway's Dub Studio and Bergen Lydstudio.

A press release reveals that the 10-song effort was made with some of Abbath's foremost metal figureheads in mind: "The goal was to field a storming production that sat firmly at the crossroads of Abbath's heroes KISS, Motörhead, Manowar, and Bathory."

For what it's worth, another titan of the genre can be spotted in the album's tracklist, with Abbath turning in a cover of Metallica's "Trapped Under Ice." On Outstrider, the band covered Bathory's "Pace Till Death."

Abbath's desired sonic homage is previewed by "Dream Cull," which arrives today alongside a Francisco Munoz-directed video that finds the painted frontman amongst the beauty and brutality of nature.

Previously, Abbath shared some of his other metal favourites with Exclaim! by singing riffs in an iconic interview.
