7 Seconds Sign to Rise Records for New Album

Skeeno Youth Crew innovators 7 Seconds have announced they've signed to Rise Records to deliver their first LP since 2005's Take it Back, Take it On, Take it Over!

Details are still developing behind the as-yet-untitled LP, but the hardcore band will head into a Sacramento studio this summer to lay down a number of tracks. The record will feature the long-standing line-up of vocalist Kevin Seconds, bassist Steve Youth, drummer Troy Mowat and guitarist Bob Adams.

"We have about 20 new songs that we'll record the best 13 songs from. This new record will be all about the energy and drive we still very much possess as a hardcore band," Seconds said in a statement. "It's been nine long years since we've recorded a new album so there's a great deal of urgency in them, with just the right mixture of both fast and mid-tempo tunes for people to sink their teeth into."

The band and Rise Records apparently have a bunch of other projects in the works, including re-releasing other LPs from their back catalogue, a deluxe vinyl box set, and potentially recording the first 20 songs the band had written back in 1979. Tours are also apparently on the horizon, but details have yet to emerge.
