Hailing from the punk rock Mecca of Southern California has obviously taken its toll on this quartet's debut. With a driving melodi-core reminiscent of Unwritten Law, Face to Face, Good Riddance and Pennywise (whose guitarist, Fletcher Dragge, co-produced this disc), 1208 makes music that sounds awfully familiar yet is somehow different enough to allow them to rise above the plethora of pop-punk bands that have emerged from the Orange County/Huntington Beach scene in recent years.
