Andrew Garfield and Jessica Chastain are about to get Biblical. Today the pair have transformed into the infamous televangelists Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker for the newly shared trailer for The Eyes of Tammy Faye.
The film is being directed by Michael Showalter and based on a true story, detailing the rise and fall of the Bakkers during the '70s and '80s. The trailer finds Garfield and Chastain on some brightly coloured sets, as the trailer quickly speeds through time. As such, we get to see some pretty impressive makeup work on Garfield and Chastain, as they go from young Bakkers to old.
The trailer also shows the decline the real-life Bakkers faced, with the couple being wrapped up in a pile of controversy involving both money and sex.
In addition to Garfield and Chastain, the film stars Vincent D'Onofrio, Sam Jaeger, Cherry Jones, Fredric Lehne, Louis Cancelmi, Joe Ando-Hirsh, Randy Havens and Gabriel Olds.
The Eyes of Tammy Faye is due out this fall on September 17 via Searchlight Pictures, but for now you can watch the trailer below.
