Toronto is getting a bunch of outdoor film screenings next month thanks to Toronto Outdoor Picture Show (TOPS), with classic movies playing nightly from August 21 to 30.
TOPS is hosting its 10-year anniversary celebrations this year, with physically distanced screenings for 10 nights next month at the city's historical Fort York grounds. Beginning with Rear Window on Friday, August 21, the summer programming will also feature fan favourites like Big, Do the Right Thing, Thelma & Louise, Twister, Nosferatu and many more.
Tickets are free, but space is limited to 100 people per screening in keeping with COVID-19 safety measures. You can book tickets (limit of two per person) at TOPS's website starting on August 3. Nearby high-rise viewers can watch the films from their balconies, and tune into audio on their own speakers — drive-in style.
Masks will be required for entry.
