After what feels like an eternity, the American remake of cult U.K. series Utopia at last has its first trailer.
Coming to Amazon Prime Video, the remake is helmed by Gone Girl/Sharp Objects author Gillian Flynn, with a cast that is being led by American Honey's Sasha Lane as the iconic Jessica Hyde. In addition, the U.S. version of Utopia stars John Cusack as Dr. Kevin Christie, Rainn Wilson as Dr. Michael Stearns, Farrah Mackenzie as Alice, Christopher Denham as Arby, and Cory Michael Smith as Thomas Christie.
For those familiar with the Dennis Kelly-created original, seeing the American cast take on such familiar roles is surreal, to say the least, but you can get your first glimpse of the American reworking of Utopia below.
For the unfamiliar, here's how Amazon sums up the series:
When the conspiracy in the elusive comic Utopia is real, a group of young fans come together to embark on a high-stakes twisted adventure to use what they uncover to save themselves, each other and ultimately humanity.
As previously reported, the American version of Utopia was set for an American remake through HBO back in 2014 with David Fincher onboard. Later Flynn took charge of the project, making for her first TV screenplay not based on her own material.
Utopia is set to premiere in the fall, but so far, no firm premiere date has been announced.
