The last time we heard about the boring-sounding Tetris movie, we were told that Brett Ratner was producing. Now, however, it sounds like those lines have been cleared and some other pieces of the puzzle have fallen into place.
Called Tetris the Movie, the block-stacking adventure will apparently be a co-production between China and the United States via Threshold Global Studios, a new company from Bruno Wu and Larry Kasanoff.
According to Deadline, Kasanoff said that the Tetris film will launch a new trilogy. Further, he said it's "not at all what you think; it will be a cool surprise."
Hopefully that's true. After all, they're billing it as a sci-fi thriller, so Tetris the Movie is giving us awful Pixels flashbacks.
Tetris the Movie will begin filming in 2017.
