As the Grammys recently proved, things aren't exactly going great for awards shows these days, with ratings and viewership numbers hitting some all-time lows. Despite that, the Oscars are apparently once again not booking a host for the 2021 Academy Awards.
According to Deadline, the Oscars will have no host for 2021, making it the third year in a row that the awards have gone without one.
To try to make up for that, the show's producers — who this year include Jesse Collins, Stacey Sher and Steven Soderbergh — are apparently just trying to rope in some big names to present each category. As of yet, though, no names have been attached to the 93rd Oscars.
Despite the ongoing pandemic, nominees have also been told that Zoom acceptance speeches will be not allowed.
If you actually do care, the Oscars will be announced in a televised ceremony on April 25. You can see all the 2021 nominees over here.
