The OA has been cancelled by Netflix. Its second season, which aired earlier this year, was its last.

The supernatural drama debuted in 2016, and was created by Zal Batmanglij and Brit Marling. Zal Batmanglij's brother, former Vampire Weekend member Rostam, created the score. Songwriter Sharon Van Etten was part of the cast.

"We are incredibly proud of the 16 mesmerizing chapters of The OA, and are grateful to Brit and Zal for sharing their audacious vision and for realizing it through their incredible artistry," Netflix exec Cindy Holland told The Hollywood Reporter. "We look forward to working with them again in the future, in this and perhaps many other dimensions."

The OA is the last original series to the cancelled by Netflix, following in the footsteps of Tuca & Bertie, One Day at a Time, Jessica Jones and The Punisher.
