You Can Stream Can't-Miss Canadian Films on CBC Gem for Free

Telefilm, the Canadian organization dedicated to the cultural and commercial success of the country's audiovisual industry, is offering up a collection of homegrown films ad-free and ready to stream. Until April 22, an array of Canadian-made films will be available at your fingertips via CBC Gem

One of Telefilm's offerings is Heather Young's Murmur, a film following the solitary middle-aged protagonist, Donna (played by Shan MacDonald), who, in an effort to fill an emotional void, adopts an elderly dog that is scheduled to be euthanized. Exemplifying the poignancy of loneliness and the selfless love one can only receive from a pet, Murmur is the perfect drama that is sure to ignite your empathy.

Niagara Falls isn't all fun, games and over-priced restaurants in Albert Shin's Disappearance at Clifton Hill. This mystery/thriller follows a troubled young woman, Abby (Tuppence Middleton), who returns to her hometown of Niagara Falls after the death of her mother. Obsessed with a fragmented memory from her childhood of a kidnapping she believes she was witness to, Abby falls down a rabbit hole trying to reconcile her past.

Murmur and Disappearance at Clifton Hill are just a couple of the many ad-free films available to stream through CBC Gem. To watch these and other Canadian films, head on over to CBC Gem's website and scroll down to "Canadian Films Powered by Telefilm."
