Steven Spielberg's 'Animaniacs' Reboot Gets Two-Season Order at Hulu

As previously reported, director Steven Spielberg has been quietly plugging away at a reboot of the '90s Warner Bros. cartoon Animaniacs. Rather than dick around with a pilot, the show has been ordered straight to series.

Showing some serious confidence in the project, Hulu has shelled out for two seasons of the revamped cartoon right off the bat. The show will see the return of its three main characters Yakko, Wakko and Dot along with the world-domineering rats Pinky and the Brain.

The deal also means that Animaniacs and Tiny Toon Adventures will all make their streaming debut at Hulu this fall.

In a statement, Spielberg said, "I am so pleased and proud that Animaniacs will have a home at Hulu. Together with Warner Bros., we look to bring new audiences and longtime fans into this wild world of Yakko, Wakko, and Dot. I am also excited that the full library of Animaniacs and Tiny Toon Adventures episodes are included in the deal."

The new season of Animaniacs will launch in 2020. Here's hoping Canada will have access to Hulu by then.
