'Star Wars' Director Rian Johnson Predicted the 'Game of Thrones' Finale

Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson seems to have a knack for telling stories of other fantastical action-adventure series as well, as he predicted one of the most shocking Game of Thrones death scenes from Sunday night's (May 19) finale — weeks ago.

Of course, if you haven't seen the episode, heavy spoilers are coming.

On April 22, Johnson tweeted, "I have that Game of Thrones disease where whenever two people hug I'm bracing myself for stabbing. If you hug me IRL I'll be tracking those hands, bucko."

The tweet was likely originally a reference to the Season 8, Episode 2 scene in which Jamie Lannister offers to knight Brienne of Tarth — a scene with uncomfortably long pauses and the unpredictable Lannister brother holding a sword dangerously close to Brienne's head.

However, Johnson retweeted his own words after Sunday's finale because, well, there was an epic hug-turned-stabbing. If you watched, you know that a melodramatic embrace between Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen ended with the former stabbing the latter.

Upon seeing the plot twist for himself, Johnson shared his original tweet once again, accompanied by a surprised but triumphant, "GUYS."

See the rather accurate prediction below.
Of course, Johnson's predictions were somewhat based on past experience — Robb Stark was infamously hug-stabbed to death at the "Red Wedding" in Season 3.
