Jessica Campbell, a former actor who starred as Tammy Metzler in Election and Amy Andrews in Freaks and Geeks, has died at the age of 38. Her cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
According to TMZ, Campbell passed away on December 29 in Portland. Having retired from acting, she worked as a naturopathic physician.
Speaking with TMZ, Campbell's cousin Sarah Wessling said that she worked a normal day, seeing patients at her practice, and returned home to visit with her mother and aunt. She apparently went to the bathroom and never came out. Her aunt went to check on her, and she had collapsed on the floor.
Prior to her death, Campbell had been complaining about congestion and said she thought she was getting a cold. Her family did not think it was COVID-19, but an autopsy has not yet been concluded.
A GoFundMe has been launched to help pay for Jessica Campbell's memorial and to provide for her 10-year-old son Oliver. Freaks and Geeks producer Judd Apatow donated $5,000 USD. Donate here.
