One of Ricky Gervais' most favourite things to do is say extremely offensive things and then let out an ear-piercing giggle. But what if, instead of giggling, he said those offensive things and then punctuated them with a somber glance? That seems to be the vibe of his new Netflix show.
Called After Life, the series follows a sadsack Gervais type as he tries to pick up the pieces when his kind-hearted wife dies. But mostly it's just Gervais walking around flipping people off and calling them the c-word.
The tone is bizarrely schmaltzy, but assuming there are still Gervais fans out there this show will appeal to someone. Watch the trailer for After Life below and look for the show to hit Netflix on March 8.
