Robert Kerman — perhaps best known for playing Professor Harold Monroe in Ruggero Deodato's horror classic Cannibal Holocaust — has died. According to various online reports, Kerman passed away on Thursday (December 27) at the age of 71.

Also known as R. Bolla, the American actor had long and prolific career, especially in the world of porn. In addition to famously starring in Debbie Does Dallas in 1978, he was in well over 100 pornographic films.

However, Kerman was also one few adult film stars of the time to branch out into a mainstream acting career. Airport '79, Eaten Alive!, The Goodbye Girl and Night of the Creeps.

In his later career, Kerman also landed a role in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man.
