Karamo Brown is part of the Fab Five that has been improving the lives of others on Netflix's hit reboot of Queer Eye, but he's now opened up about reaching out for help himself during a darker period of his life.

Brown took to Instagram yesterday (August 30), revealing that on that day back in 2006 he attempted to take his own life.

"Today in 2006 I was sitting on my couch alone, attempting to commit suicide," Brown wrote. "In my mind life was over for me."

Brown went on to explain that he eventually received mental health support and was able to become "happy and healthy."

After the initial response to his story, Brown posted another video, thanking his friends for their support and reminding viewers that "things do get better" when you're struggling and reach out for help.

In the captions to both videos, he shared the number for the suicide hotline: 1-800-273-8255.
