Ontario isn't the only province implementing restrictions due to the Omicron variant. Quebec has announced new province-wide regulations that will impact the music and film industries.
Starting on Monday (December 20), all indoor venues will have to operate at 50 percent capacity, with a maximum capacity of 250 people. All attendees must be seated and wear a mask, and dancing and karaoke are banned.

Cinemas and theatres will also reduce capacity to 50 percent.
Beyond that, private gatherings are now capped at 10 people inside or 20 people outside. High schools won't return in-person until January 10, and stores and gyms will also reduce capacity.
The province's booster shot campaign is speeding up: everyone 65 and up will be able to make an appointment starting on Monday, and the age will lower to 60 the following Monday (December 27).
