Amid reports of Paramount's extravagant budgets and tanking stocks, the company behind Yellowstone has announced that the hit show's fifth season will be its last.

Series creator Taylor Sheridan will expand his already massive universe that includes prequel shows 1883 and 1923 with yet another spinoff, which will reportedly debut this December, shortly after the second part of Yellowstone's final season is set to wrap up.

David Glasser, the CEO of production company 101 Studios, offered further insight on the untitled sequel series, per Variety: "The Dutton story continues, picking up where Yellowstone leaves off in another epic tale. We are thrilled to bring this new journey to audiences around the world."

Although Yellowstone is set in Montana, proud Texan Matthew McConaughey is slated to lead the upcoming sequel, which will bring back several actors from the current cast.

Watch the trailer for Yellowstone's fifth (and, apparently, final) season below ahead of the second part's release later this year.
