The 2023 Academy Award nominations are here, and Everything Everywhere All at Once leads the pack with 11 nominations, including nods for Best Picture, Best Director (for DANIELS), and several acting categories.
Making strong showings this year are The Banshees of Inisherin (nine nominations), All Quiet on the Western Front (nine nominations), ELVIS (eight nominations), The Fabelmans (seven nominations), TÁR (six nominations) and Top Gun: Maverick (six nominations). All of those films are nominated for Best Picture, in addition to other categories.
On the Canadian front, Sarah Polley's Women Talking is nominated for Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay, while Brendan Fraser earned a Best Lead Actor nod for The Whale.
In terms of snubs, the Academy made the decision to leave Decision to Leave off the nominees list.
