Apparently, a version of the film that aired on Netflix in the U.K. had its final scene cut, meaning that the elderly couple don't die at the end. Instead, they apparently watch a bird fly over a body of water before the film fades to black.
That sounds really nice, to be quite honest, but these death-hungry Notebook fans are fuming

Netflix quickly replied, swearing that it didn't mean to so rudely save the lives of two fictional characters with a shoddy edit. Instead, Netflix claims that it was given a different copy of the film.
