No stranger to showing off his pull in the music world, NBA icon LeBron James will take an additional step into the world of film in bringing a new version of a '90s comedy to the big screen.
As the Hollywood Reporter points out, James and his SpringHill Entertainment partner Maverick Carter are set to produce a reboot of House Party. Atlanta writers Stephen Glover and Jamal Olori have been tapped to write the screenplay.
"This is definitely not a reboot. It's an entirely new look for a classic movie," James told the Hollywood Reporter. "Everyone I grew up with loved House Party. To partner with this creative team to bring a new House Party to a new generation is unbelievable."
Carter added that they are currently trying out ideas for musicians to be cast in the feature, in addition to a star-studded soundtrack. He wouldn't rule out the possibility of a cameo from James in the film as well.
The original House Party was released in 1990, with sequels following in 1991 and 1994. Find a trailer for the original film below.
