Michael Nyqvist, an actor known for his work in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, John Wick and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, has died at the age of 56.
The Swedish performer passed away following a battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his wife Catharina and their children Ellen and Arthur.
"Michael's joy and passion were infectious to those who knew and loved him," his family said in a statement. "His charm and charisma were undeniable, and his love for the arts was felt by all who had the pleasure of working with him."
In addition to the aforementioned films, Nyqvist's many credits also include the indie dramedy Frank and Lola and the television series 100 Code.
