'It Follows' Director David Robert Mitchell Developing TV Series

Following his 2010 debut The Myth of the American Sleepover, writer-director David Robert Mitchell recently broke into the mainstream with his instantly classic horror film It Follows. The film is, by all accounts, a fantastic horror film that's among the genre's best in years, and it's got an excellent soundtrack to boot. Mitchell clearly knows what he's doing, and he'll soon bring those skills to television.

As Deadline reports, Mitchell is currently developing a crime series called Mr. Postman for Universal Cable Productions and Benderspink. The show follows a mailman in an American town who sleuths out dark mysteries after a traumatic event takes place on his street.

Mitchell is set to executive produce and direct the series and, based on that synopses, we're eagerly anticipating its arrival.

"David is a true artist with incredible vision that I believe will be a game changer in storytelling both in television and film," said Dawn Olmstead, executive vice president, development at Universal Cable Productions. "We are very excited to take out 'Mr. Postman,' his first TV project. It's like nothing else out there."

It Follows is still playing in select theatres. According to a report from Entertainment Weekly earlier this month, the film's producers are also considering the possibility of a sequel.
