'Inside the Actor's Studio' Host James Lipton Dead at 93

James Lipton, the TV fixture best known for his job hosting Inside the Actor's Studio, has passed away. He was 93 years old. 

Lipton's wife Kedakai Turner confirmed that Lipton died this morning following a battle with bladder cancer, telling TMZ, "There are so many James Lipton stories but I'm sure he would like to be remembered as someone who loved what he did and had tremendous respect for all the people he worked with."

Lipton launched Inside the Actor's Studio in 1994 and hosted the show for an astonishing 22 seasons before retiring in 2018. The show has remained on the air, with different hosts filling in for Lipton.

In addition to that show, Lipton worked as head writer on television shows like CapitolReturn to Peyton PlaceThe DoctorsThe Best of EverythingAnother World and many others.

He also had a variety of acting credits, including a memorable recurring role in Arrested Development alongside films and TV shows like The GoldbergsBewitchedYou Are There and the Disney animated feature Bolt.
