Elton John is currently saying goodbye to the live stage on his "Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour," but fans will also get to see him on the big screen next year — played by Taron Egerton in a biopic called Rocketman.
The film is billed as an "epic musical fantasy," and by the looks of the newly unveiled teaser trailer, it's going to be "a wild ride."
John has been hinting at the project since back in 2012, explaining that it's intended to be a "surreal" experience, rather than a factual one. It focuses on his career up until his 1990 rehab stint.
It was directed by Dexter Fletcher, who recently took over from Bryan Singer on the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.
Bombastic ballads, glitter, sunglasses and levitation play prominent roles in the new clip. Watch it below.
Rocketman in expected to hit theatres in summer 2019.
