Netflix has unveiled how many Canadians are now subscribed to the service and just how much money the country is paying to stream content from the company.

The new financial details were revealed today, confirming Netflix brought in $593 million USD — or $780 million CAD — of revenue from Canada during the first nine months of the 2019 financial year.

In the full 12-month period of 2018, Netflix earned $635 USD in revenue from Canada, while it raked in $508 million in 2017.

In addition, Netflix revealed it has 6.5 million paid subscribers in Canada as of September 30 — making for an increase of 200,000 paid accounts from the end of 2018.

The numbers come via newly shared documents filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The new financial figures follow a few scares from Netflix this year, as well as an increased surge in competition.
