Netflix has fallen on hard times in recent years, but despite the company's layoffs, declining subscriptions and disappointing ad-based model, there are still a lot of people watching content on the streamer.

So which are the all-time biggest films on Netflix? While Netflix isn't forthcoming about all of its analytics, it publishes a list of the films and shows that have been viewed the most within the first 28 days of their launch. These are ranked by total hours viewed, rather than by total times viewed (which obviously benefits a film like Martin Scorsese's epic-length The Irishman).

Given that Netflix ranks titles based on their performance in the first 28 days, this strongly benefits Netflix originals, which premiere on the streaming service (rather than the long-tail success presumably enjoyed by older titles).

Topping the English-language films list is Red Notice, the poorly reviewed (yet underrated) action blockbuster starring Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Rounding out the list is the divisive Oscar nominee Don't Look Up, critical hits like Bird Box and The Irishman, and complete trash like The Gray Man and Purple Hearts. Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, which only arrived on the streamer on December 23, is already racing up the list, and is currently in the fourth position.

As for English-language TV series, 2022 hits Stranger Things 4, Wednesday and DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story top the list. And people sure like Bridgerton, hey?

As for non-English content, Exclaim! favourite All Quiet on the Western Front is high up on the list, and Squid Game is predictably the top show by a mile (beating any of the English-language shows).
