Earlier this year, French filmmaker Luc Besson (LucyValerian) was accused of sexual misconduct (including allegations of rape) from multiple women. Now, five more women have come forward with accusations against the director.

In a new report from Mediapart [via Vulture], five women detail allegations of misconduct against Besson.

According the report, Besson's former assistant said the director "blackmailed" her into a sexual relationship. She added that he allegedly sexually harassed her multiple times.

Two film students also alleged that Besson sexually harassed them while they were at his Cité du Cinéma studio complex. Further, a former employee of the EuropaCorp studio accused him of inappropriate behaviour.

The total number of women who have accused Besson of sexual misconduct in the media has risen to nine. Among the previous allegations are a rape complain from actor Sand Van Roy, who said Besson assaulted her in 2014.

Though he's yet to comment on the new accusations, Besson has denied the rape allegation. Police are currently investigating the situation.

As of press time, Besson has not been formally charged for any crimes.
