Canada may have just gained a fake news show, but our TV landscape will be short one institution with the revelation that Canada AM has been cancelled. After an impressive 43-season run, the program will air its last episode tomorrow morning (June 3).

The show ran from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. EDT, and offered news, interviews and other segments that touched on a wide variety of topics. It's currently hosted by Beverly Thomson, Marci Ien and Jeff Hutcheson.

In a statement, the hosts said, "We are incredibly thankful to our viewers from coast to coast to coast who have been with us on this journey and a heartfelt part of our TV family all these years. It has been our privilege to be part of this historic Canadian series that brought us the opportunity to work with such an incredible team."

Thomson and Ien will reportedly stay on with Bell Media in some capacity, while Hutcheson is planning to enter retirement. A new show for the Canada AM time slot is expected to be announced next week.

Thanks to CBC for the tip.
