'Broad City' Will Bleep Out Trump's Name in Season 4

They initially wrote the new episodes under the assumption that Hillary Clinton would win

Broad City took a break from pot and pegging when they devoted an entire episode of Season 3 to a gratuitous Hillary Clinton campaign cameo. It was a moment where the phrase "yasss queen" finally jumped the shark, so it wasn't all bad. But Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer's assumption that Hillary would win proved a problem for the show's upcoming Season 4.

"We wrote [Season 4] being like, 'Here we go! Hillary for president!' " Glazer told USA Today. Unbeknownst to them, "this game-show host became president of our country" instead. As a result, Glazer said they had to rewrite much of the show.

Glazer added that Season 4 is "deeply rooted in this time," but don't expect them to be paying any lip service to Donald Trump. "There's no airtime for this orange [person]," she said. "We bleep his name the whole season."

Though they don't mention him by name, however, Trump's influence on their daily lives is a running theme. In one episode, Glazer's character loses her ability to orgasm "because it's just so hard to when you know so many people are in such danger," Glazer adds.

Broad City is expected to return in August.
