Barry Jenkins — the director behind the modern-day cinematic classics Moonlight and If Beale Street Could Talk — has revealed his next project. Teaming up with Fox Searchlight, the film will focus on the life of Alvin Ailey, who is seen as one of the most influential choreographers of the 20th century.
So far the film is untitled, and a release date is unclear. However, the film will draw its source material from Jennifer Dunning's biography Alvin Ailey: A Life in Dance, with Julian Breece set to write the script for the upcoming film, Deadline reports.
So far, few other details about Jenkins' upcoming film have been revealed, so stay tuned.
