Apple has been building up its visual arsenal with numerous television projects at various stages of production, but now it's all but guaranteed a handful of hip movies too. After all, Apple has joined forces with the hotly tipped production house A24 for a series of projects.

According to Deadline, Apple has signed a multiyear deal with A24 that will ensure they produce a slate of TV series and films together.

A24 is responsible for some of the most acclaimed indie films of the last half decade, including Moonlight. This year alone, it has released Eighth GradeHereditary and Mid90s, among others.

It's not exactly clear if A24's current projects in development will land at Apple or if it has an entire other batch of unannounced projects. Either way, it's another step forward in Apple's plan to launch a streaming service to compete with Netflix and Amazon.
