A sequel to Michael and Danny Philippou's horror hit Talk to Me has been greenlit by A24.
As you'll find with the studio's announcement below, the follow-up film has been teased as Talk 2 Me. News of the sequel arrives on the heels of Talk to Me making its Canadian debut at Montreal's Fantasia International Film Festival.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that the Philippou brothers (best known for their YouTube channel RackaRacka) will return to direct, while the film will be written by Danny Philippou and Bill Hinzman.
In a recent interview with Exclaim!, Michael and Danny Philippou revealed the existence of a "mythology bible" centred around the film's world and the embalmed hand at its centre — the type of information that could lend itself to multiple features.
Talk to Me focuses on a group of teenagers who discover they are able to contact spirits using an eerie embalmed hand. In a respective interview with THR, the directors confirmed that a prequel to Talk to Me's opening sequence has already been shot.
