We used to open these posts with some sort of seasonal flavour about how and why you're going to spend the month streaming shows despite whatever's happening outside. But what's the point? The reality is that Netflix is our master now, and their continual onslaught of content is our nourishment. We will obey its every command, and stream its content until our eyes ache and our ears ring. So let's look at what it has got to offer us in July!
If you've ever wondered how funnymen travel for their java, Jerry Seinfeld is here to answer that question with another season of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. The show will debut a new season on July 6.
Other Netflix original series hitting in July include Good Girls (July 3), Sacred Games (July 6), Sugar Rush (July 13), Part 2 of The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale (July 15), Amazing Interiors (July 20), Season 6 of Orange Is the New Black (July 27), the colon-heavy Roman Empire: Reign of Blood: Master of Rome (July 27) and Season 3 of El Chapo (date TBA). The documentary series Last Chance U will return with a new season on July 20.
There are also a handful of Netflix original films set to arrive. Those include The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter (July 6) and Father of the Year (July 20) and Extinction (July 27), as well as the documentary films Somebody Feed Phil: The Second Course (July 6) and The Bleeding Edge (July 27).
There are two comedy specials on the way, with new material set to arrive from Jim Jeffries (July 13) and Iliza Shlesinger (July 24).
Other non-exclusive content set to hit the service includes Kung Fu Panda 3 (July 1), The Boss (July 1), I, Tonya (July 1), War Dogs (July 8), Suicide Squad (July 15) and Daddy's Home 2 (July 27), as well as Season 7 of Suits (July 12), Season 3 of Better Call Saul (July 23) and Season 3 of Hinterland (July 31).
To make room for all that content, Netflix is ditching some titles. You've got until July 1 to watch Rio 2, Dazed and Confused, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past and The Other Woman. From there, you need to watch It's Complicated by July 6, Alice Through the Looking Glass by July 11, Dr. Suess's the Lorax by July 14 and Braveheart by July 27. If you've never heard of or seen Lie to Me and want to check it out, now's the time — all three seasons are leaving on July 25.
Happy streaming. This is your life now.
