Hear the Week's Best New Canadian Music: Begonia, Charlotte Day Wilson, Mind Bath

BY Exclaim! StaffPublished Dec 3, 2021

Well friends, we've officially made it to the last month of 2021. That in itself is worth a hearty congratulations — and treating yourself to the week's best new listens from the Canadian artists who've helped us trudge through the sludge this year.

In a nutshell: much like Bryan Adams, Begonia is finding it hard to believe she's in "Heaven," while Charlotte Day Wilson wonders where "Even Is the Lie" and Mind Bath is feeling just as "Jaded."

This week sees the grand return of everyone's favourite modern-day Marie Antoinette, Grimes, with "Player of Games," as well as late-2000s alt-rock staples Three Days GraceBAMBII follows up TRUCK RIDDIM with "TWITCH," NOBRO channel Fast Romantics with "Julia," Cots gets earthy with "Sun-Spotted Apple" and Sam Weber's in the loop with "Already Know."

Year-end list season is dominating the discourse, but some brave souls are still putting out new music: it's album release week for preeminent CanRock veterans Blue Rodeo, Caribou member Pick a Piper and Toronto multi-disciplinarian Lexxicon — who's also releasing a novel.

As for collaborations, current Exclaim! New Faves Big Kill team up with DEBBY FRIDAY, Josh Ramsay joins forces with Chad Kroeger, Tia Bank$ links up with Liyah and Chastity recruits City and Colour.

If you're not ready to have Michael Bublé's scintillating "Santa Buddy" on repeat quite yet, ease into December's nostalgia with a little something new on The Eh! List below, presented by Mary Browns Chicken & Taters — all Canadian and proud of it!
