Vancouver bedroom-pop auteur Yung Heazy just released his album I UR BOY, and now he's offering a quirky, comic glimpse into heartbreak with a video for the track "We Wuz Won." Exclaim! has the premiere below.
With wobbly, detuned electric guitar leads twanging atop mellow soft-rock hooks, the song is a breezy breakup tune. Thematically, it's the counterpoint to his breakthrough 2017 single "Cuz You're My Girl."
The accompanying video is hilariously glum, as Yung Heazy rides solo on a tandem bicycle, plays tennis alone and has a breakup text conversation with his now-ex. It was directed by Matthew Okuda.
In a statement, Yung Heazy said, "This song is about loss of control and overwhelming despair brought on by heartbreak."
