Yukon Blonde Reveal 'On Blonde' LP, Premiere New Track

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Apr 27, 2015

BC-based indie rock brigade Yukon Blonde returned last month with a new single called "Saturday Night," and now they've offered up some insight on the band's next full-length record.

Titled On Blonde (see what they did there?), the album is set to arrive on June 16 via Dine Alone Records.

As we previously noted, the band seemed to be moving away from the scuzzy psychedelia of the '60s and '70s and into a more synth-tinged '80s sound on "Saturday Night" — and that trend rings true on new track "Como," as well.

You can give it a listen in the player below [via Clash]. Jangly guitars mix with shimmering synth runs and ethereal "wee-ooh's" and "ahh's," retaining the band's knack for writing catchy pop-rock tunes — even as they bravely delve into the decade that brought us new wave and way too much hairspray.

The band have a couple upcoming Canadian festival dates, which you can see below. As we await more details of the forthcoming On Blonde, scroll past the shows to give "Como" a listen below.
